This the very first Merlot we have released. It has amazing fruit flavors that blend seamlessly with sweet oak notes and soft tannins. Better get it quick, only 50 cases made.
Ripe cherry aromas, sweet oak notes and blueberry. Medium bodied with ripe fruit flavors. The tannins help round out the finish. Overall great fruit, easy drinking and a light finish.

2015 was the warmest vintage in Washington State. Each season trended on the hot side and when it was all said and done, we were setting all kinds of records. The spring was warm and mixed with a little rain set the crop up great for the season. The summer started hot and just kept on getting hotter. We were prepared for this since the 2 previous vintages were warm, but it still pushed things along quickly. Some white grapes were picked in early August and our reds started in early September. This vintage is showing a lot of big fruit characteristics.
2015 was an interesting year for our Merlot. It has always been a wine that blended well with a lot of our wines but this year it seemed a little special. We did pick a little early because of the hot vintage but the flavors where there and after aging I had to bottle a couple of barrels on its own. The fruit looked and tasted great out in the vineyard. We handpicked in September. They were then fermented on skins for 2 weeks. The Merlot was aged in French oak barrels for 22 months. It is drinking well right now but will age for up to 10 years.
