A bright fragrance of apricot and honeysuckle make smelling this wine almost as fun as drinking it. The flavors are dried apricot, honey and a mild earthiness that adds nice complexity. Drinks nicely as a dessert alone or our over some grilled peaches.

Vineyard Notes
2014 was a warm vintage resulting in great fruit. As with any year many challenges were faced and adversities overcome in order to grow and create a great wine. The summer was hot but we didn't have a lot of days over 100 degrees which allowed the crop to ripen at a nice pace, be it a little faster than a typical vintage. When Fall arrived the grapes were ready about a week ahead of schedule. The wines from 2014 show great promise.
2014 was a hot season which might not seem like the ideal growing season for a dessert wine but I am quite pleased with what we ended up with. We pick the grapes for our dessert wine at the very end of harvest and then put them into a deep freeze storage. Once the grapes are nice and frozen we bring them to the winery and press them off. We only get about 20% volume out of the wines as opposed to traditional pressing and this really concentrates all the flavors and sugar. A slow fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks and then the wine is filtered and bottled. Minimal fining is done to the wine which allows more of the natural color and flavors to shine through.
