2013 H/H Robert Andrews Mourvèdre
The color is dark and aromas of pepper and earth are mixed in with some cherry notes. The wine is smooth with soft tannins and nice oak integration.
The first thing you notice is the dark garnet color. The aromas are beautiful and intense, Bing cherries, blueberries, toasted oak, black pepper, chocolate, and herbs. The oak component mixes with dark red fruit flavors and has some nice spice characteristics as well. The tannins are subtle and add complexity to the finish. Mourvèdre is starting to be bottled as a varietal more lately and this is a splendid example of why
